Ramona Esparza has served in the Clark County School District for 25 years as a teacher, project facilitator, and an administrator serving students and families and the greater Las Vegas community. She earned three degrees from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in the following programs of study:
She has held various positions in the District as an English teacher, project facilitator, and Data Coordinator for School Improvement in the central office. She also taught English as second language students. Her love of learning and teaching became evident in her transition to teach teachers in CCSD, and she is a former part-time instructor (PTI) at Nevada State College in their TESL endorsement program.
Ramona Esparza is the proud Principal of Valley High School. It is a comprehensive high school with an International Baccalaureate Program of Study and an Academy of Hotel and Tourism Magnet School, both of which recently received awards from Magnet Schools of America, and the most recent Military Science Technology and Emergency Management Program inducted in 2015. She will continue to serve and grow her community by continuing to provide access and the belief that ALL students can be successful given the support and mentoring necessary to reach their goals.
Her passion has been to grow others to their fullest potential in order to positively impact and shape young lives. Her philosophy of life-long learning is infectious, and she has been an advocate that believes “education is an equalizer” for her students. It opens doors and provides access to life changing experiences.
